Subsidy Schemes under MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy)

Presently 2 types of subsidy schemes are available to the existing consumers depending upon the category / location of their existing connection for application of Solar PV Connection. Alternatively, any existing consumer can opt for non-subsidy category in case of ineligibility or unwillingness for availing such subsidy.

In case the existing consumer is not eligible for any of the aforesaid subsidy schemes or does not want to avail any subsidy, they can apply for Solar PV Connection under non-subsidy category; provided contractual load of their connection is 1 KW or above. The maximum installed capacity of the Solar PV system should be less than or equal to contractual load of their connection.

The application can be submitted through either online at WBSEDCL Portal or offline at the concerned billing office. However, consumers will have to install Solar PV System at their own cost and will also have to bear all required charges i.e. application fee; cost of alteration of service (if required); cost of consumption meter, generation meter & modem as mentioned in details at Applicable Charges Page. Net-Billing or Net-Metering facility can be availed by such consumers depending upon tariff category of the consumer and contractual load of their connection as per guidelines of Procedure-C.
